Brighton is proud to have many artists and artisans call Brighton their home. There is a diverse selection of style and media. Many shows and sales are hosted every year to showcase our talented group of artists and artisans.

 

The Arts Club

The Arts Club supports the local creative community by providing a studio facilities for the development of arts and entertainment projects. The Arts Club also features a Gallery, Theatre and Stage all used to showcase arts productions and for special community events. The Arts Club hosts The Creative Arts Institute  training programs in its classroom during the day.

The Brighton Backstage Theatre
The Backstage Theatre group put on performances several times a year and holds Acting Out Workshops where actors and performers  meet and develop informal workshops to hone their craft.  A chance to explore new ground and exercise your expressive muscles working with professional coaching and the support of peers.

The Brighton Comedy Club - holds Stand Up Comedy Nights and an Improv Cafe in the Backstage Theatre at The Arts Club in Brighon .  A chance for comics to exercise their funny bones and try out your latest funnies on some friendly fans at The Arts Club.

The Film Club Cinema

DANCIN Dance  Club
The Dancin Dance Club turns the Backstage Theatre at The Arts Club into a dance club every Saturday night for a community dance.  They also plan gets together to learn share and practice different dance styles including ballroom styles such as cha-cha, fox trot, swing, tango and waltz.  Latin styles including rumba and salsa.  Country styles including line dance and swing.  As well as others, such as freestyle, hip-hop and Jazz.

DANCE LINE Dance Group
DANCE LINE is a club that meets at The Arts Club every Sunday at noon and takes line dancing beyond just the country-western genre at its root. At a DANCE LINE event Line dances are now accompanied many popular music styles including pop, swing, rock and roll, disco, Latin, rhythm and blues and jazz. Like a flash mob these dancers can show up at any event and showcase this new kind of dancing that works with so many kinds of music.

The Imagineers Gallery
The Imagineers Gallery features talented local photographers and image makers of note. The gallery has a rotating exhibit of the work of local lightsmiths that are exploring and reflecting the world around us through their photography.

Open Mic Club
The Open Mic Club provides an opportunity for musicians, comedians, poets, song writers and philosophers to try their new ideas out on a live and friendly crowd at The Arts Club in Brighton.  For the audience its  an opportunity to appreciate the amazing talents that live in our own community.

Loyalist Decorative Painters Guild
The objective of the guild is to provide a meeting ground for those who are interested in painting in any media with opportunities to learn new skills through communication, workshops, and education. Meetings take place at the Carrying Place United Church on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

Quinte Region Craft Guild
Meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at 50 Rollins Drive in Belleville. These meetings are open to anyone interested in joining the guild as a member. The guild encourages Artisans in the Quinte area by organizing Arts and Craft shows, inviting informed speakers to their meetings and conducting field trips of interest to the members. The guild has many resource books and articles available on various topics relating to craft and home-based businesses.

Northumberland Hills Arts Association - Spirit of the Hills
The Northumberland Hills Arts Association Inc., is to build a rich cultural life in the community by encompassing all art forms and traditions such as performance, visual, media, design and the literary arts. The Association shall promote the arts in the community, foster creativity, inform and communicate with the artists and the community.
