Accessibility Advisory Committee
The mandate of the Accessibility Advisory Committee is to provide advice to Council each year regarding the preparation, implementation, and effectiveness of the municipal accessibility plan with the intent to enhance the ability of people with disabilities to have equal access to opportunities within the municipality.The committee meets a minimum of three times per year with committee appointment consistent with the term of the appointing Council.

The Municipality of Brighton strives at all times to provide its goods and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We are also committed to giving people with disabilities the same opportunity to access our goods and services and allowing them to benefit from the same services, in the same place and in a similar way as other customers.

Specialized Transit

Quinte Access is the service provider for specialized transportation for persons with disabilities and seniors in the Municipality of Brighton and the City of Quinte West.

This specialized service is available to persons who are:

  • Physically or mentally challenged, or,
  • Unable to climb or descend stairs or,
  • Unable to walk a distance of 175 meters or,
  • Seniors who need transportation assistance

The service operates Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm with evening, weekend and holiday service available upon request. Additional information including how to register for service can be found on their website at http://www.quinteaccess.org/ or by phoning 613-392-9640.
