Brighton Quinte West Family Health Team
The Brighton Quinte West Family Health Team (BQWFHT) is one of 200 Family Health Teams across Ontario, which opened as part of an Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care initiative aimed at improving access to primary health care professionals in Ontario.
The BQWFHT is composed of an inter-disciplinary team of physicians and other health professionals who work collaboratively to provide patient-centred and comprehensive primary care to residents in the towns of Colborne, Brighton, Quinte West, and surrounding areas.
The FHT is composed of physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, a physician assistant, dietician, and social worker, as well as administrative support staff. There are three sites including Quinte west (Trenton), Colborne, and Brighton.
The Brighton location consists of a primary care clinic, and the main administrative offices for the team. It is located in the Brighton Health Services Building at the following address:

Brighton Health Services Centre
The Brighton Health Services Centre is a modern 15,000 square feet facility that provides access to primary and specialist health services, health promotions and disease prevention organizations. The continuum of services extends from pre natal to geriatric care.
The Health Centre has a primary care area for five physicians and a nurse practitioner, Y.M.C.A., Ontario Early Years Centre and space has been designed for a diagnostic clinic. The facility is capable of fibre optic level communication technology, has a common secure access to patient records, as well as a common reception and administration area.

Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit
The Halibuton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit has an office located in Brighton, at the municipal offices building. The Brighton Health Unit works with the residents of the community to provide information on health issues and promotes healthy lifestyles through workshops, presentations, marketing campaigns and display booths. The Unit offers support and guidance on a variety of topics, including nutrition, prevention of illness and diseases, physical activity, substance abuse and healthy environments.
