The Municipality of Brighton is a 9-1-1 emergency community.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) services the Municipality of
Brighton through the Northumberland Detachment with a full service
office located in Brighton.
The OPP's commitment to safe communities is reflected in their ethics

Community Policing
The purpose of the Brighton Community Policing Committee is to serve as a
liaison between the Community and the Police. Its volunteers are
committed to improving and maintaining the quality of life within
Brighton. Community based policing allows for strong interaction between
the OPP, Police Service Boards, Municipal Council and most importantly
community members.
